What's your name and age?

My name is DeSiree', but most people know me as DeeRay. I’m 27 years old!

How did you come up with your blog Name?

DeeRaysLogic was my twitter handle in College actually. lol I got a lot of compliments on the creativity of it. After I deactivated my twitter 5 years ago I missed the name. So I decided to reclaim it for 2020, and make a brand of it, starting with my Travel Blog.

Do you have any nicknames?

Yes! DeeRay is a nickname I was given by a childhood friend that followed me through high school to present day. Most people I've met in college believe it to be my government name. Imagine that. lol I also have a few nicknames from my family. My dad still calls me princess or kiddo even though he often cracks jokes that I'm almost 30; and my mom calls me pumpkin seed, which I secretly hope she calls me forever. lol

Where did you grow up, and what kind of activities did you do?

I grew up in Detroit, Michigan. Growing up I did little league cheer from age 10 -13. When I got to high school, I joined the dance team and transitioned to cheer leading again my senior year. *Fun fact, I actually wanted to do little league football, but I was too small for my age bracket so I settled for cheer to still be around the game.

Are you named after anyone?

Funny story. I have an older brother whose initials are D.J, and my mother wanted me to have the same initials. So she gave me my Aunt's middle name, Jeanue' which is pronounce Janae. Please don't ask me where the U comes into play. I asked my Nana countless times and she still can't tell me what she was thinking. lol

What's your most embarrassing childhood memory?

Omg! This is more so my teenage years, but still by far the most embarrassing thing I have ever experienced. My family and I went to a live show at the Fox Theater. I wanted to wear heels to the show. Bad idea! When I got up for intermission to go to the restroom, I tumbled down a set of stairs. Worst part, I was holding my mom’s hand and she let me go and said "I'm not going down with you". LOL

What age did you start working and what was your first job?

I was 14 years old when I got my first summer job. I was an office assistant for a medical billing company.

Where'd you go to college and what did you study?

I attended Eastern Michigan University, and I Majored in psychology and minored in Human Sexuality. I graduated 2015 with my Bachelor's of science in Psychology.

What is something you wish you could do one more time?

FRESHMEN YEAR OF COLLEGE!! When you go to college everyone tells you "this is going to be the most fun you've ever had". And that it was. That is an experience I wish I could relive just to feel it all again.

What inspires you?

My friends! I have some of the most optimistic, ambitious friends imaginable. We all encourage, push, support one another, and we celebrate all of our wins together. My friends are BOSSES! They inspire me every day with their work and every time they set and accomplish their goals.

What is your worst habit?

Doubting myself. There have been numerous time in the past where I have doubted my capability with out trying. I've gotten better, but I still have work to do.

What is your favorite day of the week?

Family Sunday!! of course!

If you were having a bad day, what would you do to feel better?

When ever I have a bad day, I come home, take a hot bath with my stress relief bubbles from bath and body works, and light the matching stress relief candle and sit and the dark and detox for 2-3 hours. Works every time.

What type of music do you listen to and what are your top 5 songs for 2019?

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Santorini, Greece!! From the first time I saw pictures, it has been at the top of my list of places to visit. I'm thinking 30th birthday gift to self. lol

What's the most beautiful place you've ever been?

Jamaica. Being on an Island full of people who looked like me, touched my heart in an indescribable way. Not to mention the island itself has some of the most beautiful waters I've ever seen.

What's your next vacation and where are you going?

I'm currently planning my birthday to Aruba!! My birthday is in June, yes I am a Gemini. lol

Why did you start a blog?

It has been in my heart to share my vacation experiences since I vowed to myself to travel as often as possible. Every time I shared a picture via social media,I just thought " this picture does nothing for the experience I've had. I wanted to share with others what traveling has done for me, some of the good, bad, and embarrassing moments, and also share some insight on how I am able to travel as often as I can without breaking the bank. My hope is to encourage others to get their friends and family together and go see all the place they wanted to visit as well.
